Yellow. Wear it.

I have a yellow purse. I bought it years ago from Marimeko. I love that purse, but it’s gotten a bit aged and faded. I miss its former glory. I thought you might like a yellow purse too. So I made you one. I hope you like it. I hand-embroidered a cute circle on it and lined it with sweet silvery polka dots.

Linen Love for the Weekend

It’s the weekend and I couldn’t be happier. There is something about the week after you return from vacation that is so very different from other weeks. You feel foggy and trapped between two places. Mostly, however, I miss my sweetie!

The weekend is here. Thankfully.  And, this weekend, I dream of pretty linen things. Wants. Needs. Wants.

Linen studs. I’m all about studs this year. Wearing them encourages me to wear my hair back, which, in turn, reminds me that I have a freckle face to show.

Pretty in pink. Linen house slippers. I must have some.

The Audrey purse in creamy linen. Just one left!

Linen sachets so your house smells lovely.

Is it raining? I have no idea.

You know you’ve lived in Seattle for too long when you look outside and realize you’ve lost the ability to tell whether it’s raining or not. It looks the same no matter what. And, really, who cares? It doesn’t change the way you’re going to dress anyway. The good thing is that you never look silly carrying an umbrella. It’s a great accessory for any day of the week around here.

In fact, I’m off to buy one today. Which do you like better?

You can buy them here.

In the market.

I’m in the market for a new shower curtain. A white curtain seems so boring now. Besides, a friend shamed me into painting my bathroom.  And, the itsy bitsy paint job has blossomed into a whole renovation project beyond my wildest imagination.

Back to earth. This one is pretty and so creative! DIY all the way.

Home again. Home again.

Seattle welcomed me back into its wet and dreary arms.  I’m happy to be home again, however. I’m relaxed and ready to rumble. We’re open for business as usual.

On Not Bragging

Did you have a good weekend? I hope you did.

Would it be mean of me to talk about my upcoming vacation? I hope not. I’m not a mean person. Well, there was one time in particular that I was pretty mean. It involved a roadtrip and a rest stop, but my dear friend D assures me she has long ago forgiven me.  So, generally speaking, I think it is fair to discuss my upcoming break from reality.

You can tell I need it after such sogginess over the weekend.

So we’re off to Mexico in just a few days. It’s sort of a long-awaited honeymoon.  However, K’s parents will be there making it less of a honeymoon and more of a familial getaway.  Either way, I look forward to it.

I’ll be taking this beachy bag with me, of course. This one too– for my passport.  And for reading, I found this book in a thrift store.

What are your plans this week? If you plan on shopping, the last day to purchase from the shop is Tuesday, January 19th. Otherwise, you will have to wait until February 1st for all your Valentine’s Day gifts!

Rainy Monday

It’s officially Monday.  It’s pouring down rain.  That’s o.k. I’m trying to wake up and pull through it.

The weekend was fantastic.  K took this picture during a photo shoot on Saturday at Volunteer Park. Isn’t it lovely?  I love the colors. I love the mood. Makes me feel like Spring is possible.

It’s the weekend. Finally.

You are very popular so I figure you are probably sifting through your party invites at this very moment.  What are you going to bring?  Wine, I’m guessing? That’s great, but wouldn’t it be also really lovely if you showed up with something a bit more interesting. Say, a fancy cheese on a lovely plate?

How pretty. You can buy it here.

Cold Feet.

I keep telling K that my feet are cold.  Seattle isn’t like the North Pole, but it’s a bit damp here right now.  And, of course, I refuse to wear socks.  Footless tights are one of the world’s greatest inventions.

Regardless, wouldn’t it be nice to have a pair of shoes that covered my pink toes?  I’m thinking these would do the trick. What do you think?
